Day 2: INTRODUCTION TO AND PRIVATE SUNSET TOUR AT THE TEMPLES OF ANGKOR.

Day 3: TA PHROM, BANTEAY SREI AND ANGKOR THOM.

Start the day early (around 6am) at Ta Prohm, built as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university by King Jayavarman VII. The temple is one of the most atmospheric in the whole region, with bloated tree trunks eerily snaking in and out of the ruins and large trees growing straight out of the stones. It is a stunning jungle-covered complex that is best visited early to avoid the crowds.

After a picnic-style breakfast visit the beautiful Banteay Srey, a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva that is famous for the stunning pink hue of its red sandstones. En route to Banteay Srey you will have a chance to see the Cambodian countryside with rice paddy fields, exotic trees and fruit sellers. If you like, you can even stop to see palm sugar being made in a local village.

En route back to Siem Reap town, if interested you can stop at the small but lovely Banteay Samre temple and a Land Mine Museum. You will then have some time to relax by the pool at your hotel and have lunch.

In the afternoon visit Angkor Thom, which translates to "Great City" in Khmer. Walk through the famous Victory Gate into the temple complex flanked by impressive stone soldiers.

Overnight at Jaya House RiverPark: Deluxe Room - Double Breakfast

Day 4: ANGKOR WAT AND KAMPONG PHLUK FLOATING VILLAGE.

This morning you will have the option to visit the magnificent Angkor Wat for sunrise. This temple is the largest religious building ever constructed and is one of the wonders of the world. Believed to have been undertaken as a temple and mausoleum for King Suryavarman II at the peak of the Khmer empire in the first half of the 12th century, Angkor Wat is the best-preserved of the Angkorian temples. The earlier you rise the better - the complex can get quite busy at sunrise so to arrive when the moon and the stars are still out is ideal, where

you will essentially have the temples to yourselves in the most magical of settings.

Return to your hotel to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the Roluos temples, some of the earliest permanent structures built by the Khmer. These temples are largely untouched by tourism and are an excellent display of classic Angkorian design.

Pass by the quaint rural village of Kompong Thkov en route to Kampong Phluk, a floating village built on stilts inhabited by a local fishing community on the lake. You will take a boat ride out on the lake to cruise around the village and see the local houses.
